Falafel Balls and Smurfs

My abba is on a constant search for the best falafel- flavorfull, warm, crispy outside, etc. And he knows falafel!

His favorite place so far in Jerusalem is a budkeh (little shack) across the street from Kenyon Yerushalayim (aka Kenyon Hadar) in Talpiyot.

In Tel Aviv the other day, we stopped at a budkeh for very good falafel (though Abba claims- not THE best). This bukeh was situated at the end of a pedestrian median. There were benches, trashcans, and a pedestrian walk down the middle lined with bushes and between those bushes and another row of bushes were bike lanes in both directions.

While Abba was waiting in line, a motorcyclist drove up onto the bench area, pulls up right behind the 6 people waiting for falafel and says to the guy behind the counter- "Ten Kadur Falafel Lagamad!" ("Give a falafel ball to the dwarf/midget/smurf!"). The guy behind the counter passed a falafel ball to my father who handed it to the kid (about 5/6) on the back of the motorcycle. The guy then reved the engine and drove back through the bench area to the street.

Why is that weird? I mean it was good falafel...
