Dress shopping, take 1

Today, I went with my mother and a friend (JM) to try on wedding dresses. This was the first time that I was trying on a dress for my own wedding. I was going with the goal of getting an idea of what I do and don't like and whether white or off-white is an better color for my skin.

I went to a place off of Emek Refaim (around the corner from where I live) that had been suggested by three different people.

Let me say that it was a unique experience and I now have a much better idea of what I do not want.

Earlier this year, I wrote a post about the seemingly new trend of transparent wedding dress tops. I tried on two dresses. The first had a transparent top. UGH! Lo Tov Meod! (very not good). Not only was there a see-through top, but the bottom had 3 layers of lace hanging off on the dress. The second dress was a bit better, but still horrible. JM put it nicely as we left- "Those were not wedding dresses. You looked like you were wearing some tacky Shabbat tablecloths."

Let the adventure continue!
