This morning, as I was walking to school, I passed the girls Orthodox elementary school and saw a six-ish year old wearing a crown of paper flowers and carrying a basket filled with fruit. She was bringing BIKURIM (first fruits) to school for the assembly before the Shavuot Holiday.
Also, for each holiday in Israel, there are directed ads- Bank Hapoalim for Yom Haatzmaut, Stimatsky for Pesach, etc. So it was not too much of a surprise to see the following above a street...
Why not have dairy companies advertise on the dairy holiday?!?! Brilliant! The sign says "GAD Shavuot Sameach"...and Gad is the dairy brand...clever!
