Today, on a lunch break from our Israel seminar, Jen S and I were crossing the street in front of the Conservative Yeshiva when I suddenly turned to Jen and said- do you see that?!?!
What was I pointing at?
Stopped at a red light, in the middle lane, was a truck. Next to the truck, in the left turn lane was a green sedan. I saw the driver and the passenger of the truck get out and come over to the green sedan, they each took a side of the car, the driver of the truck opened the door of the sedan, stuck his head in and yelled at the driver of said sedan. While this was happening, the passenger of the truck was yelling through the passenger door. Then after about 15 seconds of yelling, the two people from the truck returned to their truck and got in and 10 seconds later, drove off when the light changed.
I do not know what happened to provoke that behavior, nor do I know anywhere where that would be considered an appropriate response. All I can say is it figures that it would be an Israeli driver who would take road-rage to the next level.
Also can I just add that the driver of the truck was wearing a kippah. That would never fly in the states...I think that here, the kippah means something very different. Or at least seems to- but that is an issue for a whole different post.
