Dear 5 year old child crossing the 6 lanes of traffic by yourself on the way to school this morning;
I am impressed.
You must not be the oldest or even third child of your family. When I was your age, I was learning to read, learning to tie my shoes, and learning to say no to strangers.
You did a great job of waiting for the little man to change from red to green before you started walking.
You stayed between the white lines of the crosswalk and did not follow me as I cut a corner.
You stood a fair distance back from the curb while waiting.
And you did not let that oversized-Beitar Yerushalayim backpack slow you down or tip you over. Way to be trendy!
To your parents, on the other hand;
Shame on you! Have you seen how fast those cars go? Are you at all concerned that your child is only the height of the car hood? You must have grown up in this country too. I hope that you tell your child every day that you love him.
Sincerely,
You child's guardian angel from today.
