I LOVE HEAT!!!

Tonight, I am sitting at the table, and my roommate is sitting in the livingroom. She turns to me and says- "Hey Aviva, wow, the heat is on." Lo and behold I feel the radiator and realize that the heat is on. Finally! Of course it makes sense that the heat would be on- it's December, yet this was the first time that the heat has been on.

I should have realized that the heat was on when I noticed that I had pushed my sweatshirt sleeves up and was thinking about taking off the hat I had put on earlier. How nice to know that I do not have to wear a fleece, socks and use 2 blankets and a sleeping bag tonight- I can do without the sleeping bag.

I feel that if I was in NYC, I would not need the heat yet. It is in the 60s duing the days and then the temperature drops at night. Because the buildings are made of stone and concrete, they retain the cold so the floors are cold, the air is cold, the toilet seats are cold, the fridge is cold...oh wait...duh! In short, everything is cold inside but finally we have heat.

It was so cold when I got home today that I defrosted chicken in the microwave and made chicken soup from scratch. First time I made chicken soup without the mix. I did not know how so I went online and searched for Jewish Chicken Soup. Yum. Unfortunately it takes a long time to cook so I ate a different dinner while it was cooking and then was not in the mood to have any since it was warmer. Freezes well.

YAY heat!

If I buy stuff, would you be willing to come over and teach me how to make chicken soup? :-) Gail
